Major shipping
carriers have announced changes in rates and
services for 2007. The U.S. Postal Service
has also announced major changes planned for
Spring of 2007. MOS is set to make sure
your operation keeps running smoothly by
providing our SoftwareCare™ customers with the
latest updates.
In December
2006, MOS sent update CDs for all
clients current with our software maintenance
products SoftwareCare™ or Rate
and Structure Care™.
Expected in May 2007, the U.S. Postal Service
will be making substantial changes to both
domestic and international mail. This
includes the new 'shape-based' mail classes.
G2 Family members and G1 MCM systems will get
new CDs. Because of late-breaking postal
board review, we anticipate the possibility for
a web update as well.
Most updates will not
require the need for an activation code.
MOS systems will be able to check the status of
an account and perform the update automatically.
This will save time and simplify the update.
Additional important information:
-
G2 Family and G1
MCM will receive CDs.
-
Activation codes
for eligible clients running the G2 Family
of products (including G2 MCM, G2 View, G2
Accountant and G2 Postal Consultant), G1 MCM
and G1 Postal Consultant will not have to
manually entry the activation code for the
update. The update must be run on the
system that contains the MOS security key.
-
G1 Postal
Consultant will not receive a CD or update
until the USPS rates change (currently
expected in May 2007). G1 Postal
Consultants will need to get the update from
the MOS web site download area.
-
Web updates will
likely be available to augment the CD
release for G2 and G1 MCM. This is to accommodate last
minute carrier changes that could not be
included on the CD. Check the download
section of our website or click on the links
to the left under 'Current Versions'.

Keeping up with
the 1,000's of changes to rules and rates is
our job. We know how important it is
for our clients to have the right
information at the right time!
